LIMITED SIGNED BOOK COPIES AVAILABLE!\r\n\r\nIn 1983, Professor Howard Gardner revolutionized the world of education with his ground-breaking theory of multiple intelligences. In this new memoir, the leading authority on the human mind reflects on the various types of intelligence, including his own. Gardner’s conclusion is that like Charles Darwin and Richard Hofstadter, his mind is a “synthesizing” one that has the ability to survey experiences and data across a broad range of disciplines and perspectives. He argues that in 2020, a synthesizing mind is especially valuable and he sets out methods to cultivate a possibly unique human capacity. A. Lin Goodwin, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong, will moderate this enlightening discussion with Professor Gardner. As parents and teachers in Hong Kong and around the globe adapt to this new normal of online education, its impact on the long term intellectual development of children and the topic of education is on everyone’s mind.\r\n\r\nThis program will be split into the two parts below:\r\n\r\nThe main event from 21:00 to 21:40 PM HKT is a free public webinar available on Facebook & YouTube (no registration required).\r\n\r\nThe second part of this program is immediately after the public webinar from 21:40 to 22:00 PM HKT. This will be a ticketed private off-the-record virtual meet-and-greet with Howard Gardner on Zoom only (very limited spaces available - first come, first serve!). All registrants will be sent the Zoom information to watch directly on Zoom at 21:00 PM and remain in the chat until 22:00 PM for the private session. All attendees will be promoted to panelists to be able to share their audio and video. This private session will be for priced at $300 for ASHK, Harvard Club of Hong Kong and HKU Faculty of Education members. For non-members, the price is $400. This includes a signed copy of the memoir delivered to you.
