The documentary follows Ryan as he arrives in Lhasa to acclimatize and make his final preparations for the challenging adventure to Mount Kailash. He is nervous, and he should be, the altitudes are high and the weather is un-predictable. Every year, thousands make the pilgrimage to Kailash, following a tradition going back more than a millennium. When the weather turns against those on the mountain, people die. Pilgrims of several religions believe that circumambulating Mount Kailash, at 6,638 meters (21,778 ft.) on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune, and that the benefits are worth the risk. Ryan will be traveling with the Hindus and Buddhists making his circumambulation in a clockwise direction. Join Ryan Pyle for the screening of Extreme Treks: Sacred Mountains - Mount Kailash, followed by a conversation.
